Dr Urschel helped me to further understand the disease of addiction and to recognize that while addiction cannot be "cured" it can be "controlled" just as many other chronic diseases might be controlled. I appreciate that he tackles the issue from a multi pronged approach, medicine, therapy and supportive 12 Step Program. The exercises and self tests are useful for the addict and for those who love the addict. I most highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with addiction in any way. The information is priceless.
